Fencing Pedagogy

Change in Description:

Dedicated to the professional training and certification of fencing teachers, this class will teach the skills needed to be a confident and effective fencing instructor.  Candidates will master the complete theory and practice of the Classical Italian system, with instruction comparable to that one receives in Italy, one of the world’s leading fencing countries.  Do not want to be a teacher?  Intermediate/advanced fencers wishing to improve their competitive skills or to learn sabre or epee are welcome. Required Text: The Science of Fencing by Dr. William M. Gaugler, available for purchase in class. Sewing – All Levels

Change in Description:

The new sewer will learn the basics of hand and machine sewing, how to take measurements, how to pick and read a pattern, and how to navigate the fabric store.  The experienced sewer will learn more advanced techniques, such as pattern making, professional finishing tips, working with difficult fabrics, and alterations.  Students are encouraged to bring there own machines and supplies which they will learn to use to their fullest.  For those who do not have their own, class machines are available.  A detailed materials list will be discussed at the first class meeting.  $6 materials fee due with pre-registration.  Senior Fee does not apply.  Email questions to Ms. Sahm at FencingMastersProgram@comcast.net
